Having spent over 7 years as a graduate teaching assistant and a course instructor, I've developed a knack for encouraging students to actively engage in the learning process. Open dialogues combined with planned exercises are my specialty, which I've found to be the perfect mix for complex, abstract subjects. I thrive on the interaction between my students, and welcome students to openly partake in feedback so we both gain from the experience. I've seen many students doubt their abilities, but after communicating their concerns, the student is often able to not only succeed in the lesson itself, but gain confidence. As a National Merit Semi-Finalist, I am qualified in test preparation, as well as aiding students in their verbal and writing needs. A Texas native, I completed my BA and MA in Political Science at the University of Texas at Arlington, and am working on attaining my PhD at the University of California, Irvine.
